Position: MANAGER


Management position responsible for all aspects of managing a single retail store, inclusive of the salon. Has complete operational accountability to achieve sales, service, organizational, customer satisfaction and profitability goals for the store in compliance with company procedures. Provides team leadership and ensures staff maintains store presentation and supports brand consistency as it develops. Reports to Corporate office. Exempt position with minimum average hourly requirement of 80 hours every two weeks. Flexibility in scheduling to include open, close and weekend activity is required.


  • Demonstrates business acumen, with an understanding of key business drivers and can identify opportunities for growth within own location and/or corporate wide especially staffing for growth, average ticket and loyalty
  • Recruits and hires qualified management and staff in accordance with company hiring policies and procedures
  • Schedules management and retail staff effectively in consideration of store traffic and key store initiatives
  • Manages and processes payroll for the store and salon where applicable
  • Conduct and ensure fair and timely performance evaluations of all staff
  • Consult and communicate staff issues to Corporate office as needed
  • Confront and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Inform and motivate staff to meet stores goals and comply with policies.
  • Conduct at a minimum quarterly meetings with the whole store. Ensure that changes to policy, product mix, and corporate initiatives are covered. Maintain a communication binder to keep staff informed of important issues
  • Ensure that all new staff and/or promoted staff successfully complete their onboarding training before assuming new responsibilities
  • Schedules and ensures staff completion of product knowledge training
  • Ensure staff is fully trained on corporate initiatives and store policy and procedures, including the POS User Manual
  • Communicates top sellers, inventory levels and discrepancies, product concerns, and customer feedback to the Corporate office
  • Ensure standards of cleanliness and organization are maintained
  • Ensure key product launches and sales initiatives are fully supported and promoted
  • Responsible for the management of all salon personnel including independent contractors (booth renters) and commission stylists (staff)
  • Place and check in salon supply orders timely and within policy for commission stylists to ensure customers are serviced to expectation
  • Supervises sales floor, completes store opening and closing procedures, including following all checklists, coaching staff and maintaining loss prevention guidelines
  • Addresses all customer concerns and questions promptly and with professionalism
  • Responsible for all cash drawers per company policy including returns, exchanges and loyalty programs
  • Ensure that store funds and deposits are maintained in accordance with Company policy
  • Monitor stock levels on all inventory items. Conduct inventories on a timely basis/maintain updated inventory records
  • Complete all paperwork procedures that are necessary for the store‚Äôs function promptly and accurately
  • Ensure procedures for receiving , transferring and returning merchandise are adhered to
  • Maintain store safety and salon board compliance standards


  • Associates degree, 3-5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work
  • 3 years of progressively responsible retail experience; supervisory experience requires
  • Demonstrated competency in sales, products and services; prefer beauty industry exposure
  • Proven ability to recruit, assess, train, develop and promote employees
  • Proven ability to build, develop, motivate, and lead diverse teams
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising practices
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook with exposure to Social Media use
  • Consistent and reliable attendance PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • On a regular basis, requires the ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, stand for a minimum of 6-8 hours, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel and crouch
